Warped Tour 2012
Yesterday was the Toronto stop of Warped Tour 2012. To say the very least: it was an experience.
First, and most tragic, a 19-year-old female attendee died. Read more here. It's really shocking because my sister Anna and I (she came all the way to Toronto to go with me!!) were at the Monster Energy Stage around the time the tragedy occurred. We may have had the woman in our field of vision, but were not aware of the circumstances. There was a moment of silence held by Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens during their set later in the day.
Second, there was a severe thunderstorm from 3:30pm to 4:45pm (the sets resumed at 5:00pm and finished at 10:00pm). We were all herded into the amphitheatre (pictured here) to wait it out. Needless to say, we were all soaking wet for the remainder of the day. My shoes are still not properly dry!
Third, I finally got to meet Meghan (aka izshkabobula)! As seen in the photo, it was a thrilling moment in both our lives. She's a peach! I'm sure if you ask her nicely, she will verify the degree to which I rock out at shows ;) she stood next to me all throughout the You Me At Six set, during which I went kinda crazy because they played so many of my favorite songs. You can always tell when I'm having a good time.
Last, but certainly not least, I got to spend the entire day with my sister! She just left to go back home, but it was such a delight to have her in my company for a full 24 hours. I miss my family!
